Everything was possible and nothing made sense. - January 1st, 2020
"There are so many parents who will come up to me and be like, ‘My child wants to go into theatre!’ I’m like, ‘Let them do it!’ I’m like, ‘They will learn all the great, important things of life: discipline, problem-solving, creativity, imagination, love…love, tolerance, patience.’ I cannot imagine what would have happened to me if I had not found my way, somehow, to the theatre. It’s a really wonderful place to live; it’s a wonderful credo to live by. Most people think that the theatre and actors are very selfish people, and actually, I find it’s the opposite. I find that you sort of have to be selfless in the theatre, you really have to be selfless…most really great people of the theatre are selfless. And so, I believe in the theatre. It’s not just an event to me. The theatre is a way of life, it confirms what I know to be true, who I want to be and who I want other people to be, and I love it. And it has really informed every aspect of my life, it just has…and I carry that with me everywhere. And it has served me extremely well, and I am so grateful for it. Really grateful." — Laura Linney
