This was the first Madonna song I heard and I instantly fell in love with her. I must have been only 4 or 5. As I see clips of me vogueing to the beat of this song it is pretty clear I was destined to become a Madonna fan. My absolute favorite Vogue performance is the Sticky & Sweet Tour one, I was freaking there! Anyways, let's go back in time, shall we? Back to 1990 when Madonna performed one of the most iconic stage performances ever. Comments are appreciated but most importantly, enjoy! ♥

      I hate doing these and I always feel so guilty........but I'm doing a friends cut. I refuse to write up a long post about why because those annoy me but if I cut you and you still want to be on my f-list for some reason, I guess just comment here and tell me why (comments will be screened). If you can see an entry like this, you're still on my f-list.

So I know it's super early but some people already did this so I did mine too! :) I did this last year too and I still think the concept is super cute. Seriously, you guys, DO THIS! So that I can send you stuff! :)

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

 

1. Anything you want to send me. I’m obsessed with snail mail and, seriously, I mean it- anything: From letters or cards or postcards to magazine cutouts, string bracelets, old papers …basically anything random and useless you have lying around. Also- anything I can put up on my wall- pictures, drawing, post-its, whatever.
    
2. Anything Broadway related. Old tickets, flyers, bootlegs, anything. But especially Playbills, if you happen to have any extras. :)
    
3.  Anything even remotely hippie. Just not, you know, weed.
    
4. I’m obsessed with notepads, stickers, and pins/buttons, so obviously I’d love any of those!
    
5. Mix CDs, whether it’s one you made of your favourite songs, one you made with your favourite songs of an artist you like/an artist you think I’d like, or a copy of an already existing CD (…which technically wouldn’t be a “mix CD”, but whatever).
    
6. A livejournal header/layout-y thing using this picture: http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/97/pslayoutdd14ez0.png. I’ve never quite managed to find one I like. (In the event you do make this, please credit http://girlmeetsnyc.blogspot.com/ for the picture.)
    
7. Anything Audrey Hepburn, Wizard of Oz or Alice in Wonderland related.

9. Any sort of bag or wallet. Especially if any of you are super talented and make them by hand. Favourite.
    
10.  Any sort of Burt's Bees product.

Rating: It's hardly worth rating.  Appropriate for all audiences.
Summary: A post-ep of sorts for Institutional Memory.  CJ reflects on her time in the White House and the men who have changed her life.  Vague references to events throughout the series.
Notes: This ficlet was actually inspired by the title, which was taken from the Dolly Parton musical 9 to 5.  CJ's character has always been more complex and more difficult for me to explore, so this was fun.  I hope you enjoy it.  Written for tenyearsoftww.  Endless thanks to agrits, my wonderful beta.
